Biacore T200
Used for Surface Plasmon Resonance

Overview
The Biacore T200, from Cytiva, is the platform's SPR system: four flow cells connected in series (an experiment typically uses a reference and an active cell in pairs — 1&2 or 3&4), an integrated degasser, and an autosampler that accepts 96- or 384-well plates for unattended kinetic screens. Sensitivity reaches down to 1 resonance unit (RU), with baseline noise below 0.03 RU, which is what makes small-molecule analytes — far below the mass of a typical protein — detectable at all by SPR.
Key specifications
Flow cells: 4, connected in series
Sensitivity: detection down to 1 RU; baseline noise <0.03 RU
Flow rate range: 1–100 µL/min
Injection volume: 2–350 µL
Temperature range: 4–45 °C
Autosampler: 96- or 384-well plate compatible, up to 384 samples per run
Role at PINT
The T200 is the platform's only SPR platform, used across the full range of SPR work described on the method page — kinetics, epitope mapping, and small-molecule target engagement — with the autosampler making it practical to run a full concentration series, or a large epitope-mapping matrix, as a single unattended queue.
